First Touch on the Turf
The morning breeze brought the scent of fresh cut grass, and suddenly my boots could feel the firm ground beneath them. I lowered my raised right hand and pressed a single stud firmly into the green turf. A tiny blade of grass bent under my touch, springing back as I shifted my weight forward. Standing upright right near the painted white boundary, I knew I was truly alive and ready for the match.
