A Soft First Step

My toes wiggled. Oh! I stood up straight against the dark gray cloth. It felt warm and wonderfully soft underfoot. Just above me hung a pale blue fleece blanket, thick like a fluffy cloud. I reached out a hand and gently patted the soft fleece folds. It didn't roll away or make a sound, just let me press my fingers against its plush surface.
