Acoustic Alignment
I set down an empty ceramic espresso cup and an upside-down aluminum soda can on the glass tabletop. Instead of silencing unwanted noises today, I wanted to craft my own rhythm. I picked up a small wooden toothpick, took a measured stance, and tapped the rim of the can. A crisp ping rang out. Next, I struck the glazed ceramic, producing a bright, hollow chime. By alternating taps with deliberate cadence, the two vessels resonated together through the glass pane and into my boots. A balanced percussion piece, composed from scratch.
