A Firm Resistance

My right arm yielded first. I leaned forward across the surface, testing my balance. Directly beneath my palm rested a raised red circle on a black device. I applied measured pressure downward. The rubber yielded slightly, clicking softly against the internal switch before rebounding. My stance held firm.
