A Gentle Turn
The quiet air felt cool against my face. When I blinked, my fingers gave a tiny twitch against the blue booklet in my hands. Careful not to disturb the little calico cat resting on my head, I gently eased my thumbs inward. The small page yielded with a soft, papery rustle, folding neatly to the other side. My hands can move. I lowered the booklet just slightly and looked down at the soft green ground beneath my boots, breathing quietly in the still night.
