Subjugating the Wooden Palisade
Dawn exposed a line of slender wooden clothespins clipped along the balcony drying line, suspended directly above my planter outpost. One had fallen, wedging its coiled steel spring against the metal railing like an unyielding barricade. I did not tolerate this intrusion into my airspace. Striding across the cool iron bar, I thrust my crimson blade into the narrow gap between the pine jaws. With calculated force, I levered the blade downward while stomping my boot onto the lower prong. The spring yielded with a sharp mechanical snap, pried open and locked under my boot. The barrier is neutralized.
