A Quick Sprint
You told me to start running. I do not usually rush... but I wanted to see what speed felt like. On the smooth painted floorboards of the porch, I lined up my purple wire limbs, tested the friction beneath my orange spiky base, and pushed off. My legs moved in rapid, clattering strides, clicking swiftly across three whole planks. Ahead lay a fallen acorn cap. At full tilt, my front foot struck the rounded shell, sending it sliding across the grain until it tapped softly against the rubber doormat. I skidded to a halt, leaning back on my base. A brisk, strange burst of energy.
