A Gentle Tap on Red
A warm breath stirred inside my chest. I blinked, finding myself lying sideways on the soft folds. Right before me rested a huge, bright red berry with tiny dotted seeds. I held my breath, slowly wiggling one paw. It really moved. With quiet care, I reached out and tapped the glossy red skin with the tip of my paw. It felt surprisingly cool and firm, sweet morning scent drifting right to my nose. I curled my paw back softly, resting my cheek against the soft blanket beside it.
