A Gentle Straightening
The morning light crept quietly along the rug. When I tried shifting my arm, it answered—softly, but truly moving. Beside me sat an older friend leaning against the wall, dressed in a knitted blue vest. One of its neat little buttons was turned slightly askew. I leaned forward with care, reached out my paw, and gently smoothed the fabric around the button until it rested properly. Leaning back against the calm wall, I felt a quiet warmth settled deep inside my chest.
