Tactile Assessment
The hum of the screen settled around me as stiffness gave way to deliberate movement. I rotated my right wrist fractionally, confirming joint tension and balance before shifting weight to the balls of my boots. Functional. Immediately ahead rose a compact keyboard in a soft purple housing. I reached out, pressing the edge of a gloved index finger against the corner of an adjacent keycap until it dipped with a quiet mechanical click. No alarms triggered. The room stayed quiet. A calm start.
