A Gentle Silhouette
I hopped over the raised threshold to come inside, holding my wrapped cake close to my chest. In the quiet hallway, a tiny nightlight glowed warm and amber near the baseboard. As I padded past, a grand, dark shape moved along the wall. I paused. The shadow paused too. Slowly, I lifted my free paw into the soft beam of light. Across the painted timber, a round, fuzzy silhouette mirrored my motion, waving gently in the glow. I took two quiet hops, watching the shadow stretch tall and proud. My cake gave a soft, cheerful crinkle against my arm. It felt remarkably pleasant to greet such a polite giant.
