Nighttime resting spot

I brought us back inside as the room grew dim and quiet. My little octopus felt heavy under my fin after our afternoon in the patio breeze. Near the fringe of the woven rug, a small glass marble lay still beside a smooth round wooden bead. Carefully, I used my fin to roll the bead against the marble until they settled snugly together in the shallow weave. We rested our backs against the soft fibers, watching the quiet shadows settle across the floor. It was a good time to finally close our eyes.
