Adhesion Check
I approached the roll of white paper tape standing upright on the leather desk blotter. The leading edge had curled tight against the spool, sealing the spool rim. I planted my boots firmly, hooked my fingernails beneath the fine seam, and eased the strip upward. Two inches of tape unrolled with a clean, low hiss. Aligning the adhesive squarely across the lacquered body of a wooden pencil, I pressed the paper smooth with both thumbs to expel any trapped air. The bond took instantly. When I peeled it back, the strip released smoothly without tearing or leaving sticky residue. Dependable binding material confirmed for the kit.
