Remote Control Physics

The television was playing an animated show about giant robots three feet away, but the volume was an unbearable nuisance. Reaching the remote required moving. Naturally, I declined. Instead, I carefully rested the black chainsaw across my lap, aimed the heavy guide bar forward, and tipped the tip downward toward the TV remote on the coffee table. With a slow, single levered press of the bar, the volume button clicked. Silence returned. An anime battle ensued in absolute, peaceful mute. Crisis resolved with zero footsteps.
