A Slanted Grid
I wanted to see higher today. Walking across the sill, I found a row of wooden blinds tilted at an angle. Morning light cut through the slats, creating clean, parallel bars across the white paint. I paused. The gap between two lowered slats was just wide enough. Carefully shifting my small legs, I waddled right into the slant and let the smooth wood rest gently against my upper curve. Standing aligned with the geometric shadows, I quietly watched the yard outside through the horizontal lines.
