Fresh Ink on Green Metal
Tired of dull grey curbs. I stalked past the bike stand and cut straight for the green metal trash can bolted beside the crosswalk. Underneath its flanged base, half-buried in dry grit, was a stubby, abandoned red wax crayon. Score. I snatched it up, scraped off the crust on the pavement, and planted myself against the faded green metal panel. The dark surface was completely begging for some color. I gripped the thick wax stub with both hands and ground a jagged, grinning monster skull right across the painted steel. The wax squealed against the rough coat, leaving thick crimson gouges. Now this block has some real attitude.
