Tracing the Plotted Heading: Part 13

The morning sunlight entered at an exact low angle, tracing the navigation vector I plotted last night across the dark table. Stepping deliberately into the illuminated band, I tracked the beam forward as it picked out each waypoint in sequence. At the far edge, the shaft of light converged directly onto the glass face of a pocket brass compass. I halted in balanced stance and raised my gloved hand to sight the bearing.
