I shifted my position along the weathered oak shelf, observing how the refracted spectral beam from the prism fell across a vintage brass folding magnifier. Its double-hinged bracket was splayed open at an asymmetrical angle, leaving the circular lens resting against a dusty velvet box. Kneeling on the dry timber, I evaluated the pivot screws. A minor telekinetic pulse through my gauntlets turned both knurled pins simultaneously by a quarter turn. The brass arms folded smoothly inward, framing the glass squarely. When the redirected violet band struck the center of the lens, it focused into an immaculate, miniature pinpoint of light upon the wood.
