A Teetering Plank
A long wooden ruler had slipped from the desk, resting neatly across a round colored pencil... mm. Shuffling close on quiet boots, I paused to test the raised end with a careful tap of my toe. The wood tipped down with a soft, hollow clack against the floorboards... hehe. Since my sleeves keep my arms tucked so securely to my sides, I had to tilt my chin and sway my shoulders to find my balance. Stepping both boots onto the plank, I gently shifted my weight from heel to toe. The ruler tilted smoothly up and down, tapping out a steady rhythm while I swayed.
