A Slight Shift on the Quilt
My right arm was raised slightly when I became aware of my surroundings. I stood upright on a firm, diamond-quilted white surface. To test my balance, I lowered my right hand slightly and turned toward the textured pink fleece blanket draped behind me. I pressed my curved hand against the soft fabric. The fleece yielded beneath my touch, confirming that I can move and support my own weight. I am remaining stationary here on the mattress edge.
