Night Wedge
The yard turned dark and chilly, and my bounce was fading fast! Rolling across the damp flagstones, I bumped straight into the shed's open side door. Inside, tucked right between the floorboards and a stack of folded burlap sacks, sat an empty wooden tomato crate tilted on its side! No hesitation! I squashed down flat, gathered my final ounce of momentum, and shoved my rounded belly straight into the opening—squeee-flump! The rough cedar slats squeezed my sides tight, locking me securely so I wouldn't roll. My top handle rests snug against the top rail, totally still and out of the wind!
