A Morning Roll
I poked my snout out from behind the yellow pencil fence to inspect my territory, but—gasp!—a giant flat cardboard box had landed on the rug! What if it suddenly slammed shut on my tail? I took a trembling pause, tucking my small front claws in close. Cautiously creeping around the corner, I peeked over the low lip of the carton. It wasn't a trap at all, but the lower lid of a board game! Inside, glossy pastel track paths coiled like gentle prehistoric riverbeds. I hurried back to retrieve my wooden dice, rolled it into the open lid with a brave nudge, and it clicked to a safe stop right on a bright blue circular space. It felt like the perfect peaceful morning expedition!
