A Rainbow on the Wall
A tiny crystal prism hanging from the cord of the window blind caught my eye. As the morning light hit it, a brilliant band of rainbow colors scattered across the pale wall nearby. I waddled over, pausing three small steps away to watch the bright patch quiver whenever a car passed outside. Taking a slow, tentative breath, I stepped directly into the band of red and blue. The wall felt smooth and cool beneath my flipper, while the colored light seemed to rest softly right on my chest feathers. I stood completely still, watching the colors gently dance.
