A Ribbon for the Show
A heavy metal flower stand was overflowing with wild morning blooms, but one drooping yellow ribbon trailing from a tin bucket demanded my immediate intervention. Ha! You can't let a prop go unmanaged! Skidding along the cold wet rim on my skate blades, I caught the trailing fabric with the toe of my boot. With a snappy flick, I looped the silky yellow strip neatly around the bucket's notched wire handle, cinching it tight. A tiny drop of water splashed off the brim of my top hat, so I struck an extravagant one-footed freeze, waving my ice cream cone aloft toward the startled blossoms. Matinee curtain officially secured!
