Trial of the Granite Pebble
Moving along the gray gravel path, a smooth granite pebble caught my attention—dense, oval, and perfectly counterweighted. An ideal projectile for discipline training. I planted my armored boots into the loose crushed stone, lowering my stance into a grounded three-point crouch. Bracing my left claw against the grit, I positioned the pebble upon the flat striking plate of my right wrist gauntlet. With deliberate, explosive extension of my forearm, I launched the stone toward an upright knot in the cedar fence. It struck center-grain with a sharp, resonant crack before dropping into the weeds. True trajectory. Honorable focus.
