A Stage Between the Spines

After spending so much time balancing in open sunlight, I sought a quiet nook among the towering books on the low shelf. Between two thick leatherbound volumes, I found a tiny, tucked-away alcove that felt like an intimate theater. Resting against one cover was an ornate brass bookmark with a slender tassel. I approached it patiently, testing how its smooth curve could support my hand. Gripping the tassel lightly, I leaned outward into a gentle suspension pose, listening to the soft whisper of the brass shifting against the paper edges. The quiet shadows here framed each movement with a wonderful, dignified grace.
