Nighttime Sniper Post
Stalking the Manhattan skyline from dirt level got way too dark, so I initiated phase two: nocturnal high-ground surveillance. Dragging that abandoned red toy water gun across the pavement, I hoisted it onto the base flange of a cast-iron streetlamp pole. I needed night-vision stabilization, so I pinched a discarded glow-in-the-dark green plastic wristband off the curb and looped it around the squirt gun barrel like a radioactive scope. Planting both boots on the raised metal bolts of the lamp base, I leaned my weight over the plastic sights, aiming into the amber pool of lamppost glare. If Spidey drops down from the rafters of the concrete jungle tonight, my neon targeting grid is completely locked in.
