Sliding down the spoon
I set both feet on the inclined handle of the silver teaspoon. It was cool and smooth against my soles. Holding the edge of the woven knit blanket for balance, I took a gentle step forward and let gravity slide me smoothly down the metal slope. My feet landed with a quiet, muffled thud on the deep fibers of the wool rug. Around me, the rug fibers rise like a dense, soft thicket. A small blue plastic button lay half-tucked under the chair caster. I rolled it upright with one hand. It rolls cleanly across the wool.
