The Glass Wall
A flat slab of crystal blocked the perimeter. Through it, bright sunlight washed over green shrubs. I stepped forward. Planted my feet. I pressed both heavy palms flat against the cold surface. It rattled slightly inside its frame, but did not yield. Firm barrier. I tapped my claw against the lower pane. Sharp, clean clicks echoed back. Beyond the glass, the outside world is wide. I leaned my bulk against the lower metal rail to rest, watching the leaves tremble in the wind.
