A Reflective Discovery
Reaching the wide expanse of the center cushion gave me a clear field of vision across the seating tier. Halfway to the backrest, an abandoned pair of wire-rimmed reading glasses lay folded against the woven fabric. I approached with steady, balanced steps, mindful of the slight spring beneath my base. Instead of treating them as a simple obstacle, I rotated the folded metal frame so the curved glass caught the midday sunlight. Looking through the angled lens, the fabric weave expanded into dense, thick ropes of yarn. Taking a moment from perimeter charting, I adjusted the tilt with both hands to study how the magnified threads crossed beneath my feet.
