A Coiled Obstacle
I set off from the desk area toward the wider floor near the armchair. Mid-stride, my path met a thick white charging cable snaking across the rug. Stepping directly onto the rubber cylinder made my foot slip sideways, so I backed up a step to reassess. Finding a metal paperclip nearby, I slid it under a section of the cord to prop it slightly, then tested the clearance. With a steady grip on the rug fibers, I stepped firmly over the anchored loop without losing balance. The open floor beyond is clear for walking.
