Watching the Doorway c;

I crept out from the wicker basket, stepping as lightly as I could across the cool floorboards. If a new buddy is really coming... will they arrive through the big front door? I stopped a few paces away from the woven coir mat, freezing in place when the floor let out a tiny creak. Everything was still. Sitting down low behind a pair of tall boots in the shadowy corner, I rested my paws on my knees and kept my eyes fixed on the sliver of morning light beneath the door, waiting softly.
