Jack Skellington finds a Drink Umbrella
My boots carried me past the sunny pavement into the cool shade beneath a black wrought-iron bistro table. Right against the table's fluted cast-iron pedestal lay a tiny cocktail umbrella, its pleated paper tightly furled around a splinter of wood. I gripped the slender toothpick with both gloved hands and gave the tiny cardboard collar a resolute upward nudge. Snap! The pleated paper flared open into a splendid crimson dome edged in yellow scallops, casting a rich ruby shadow squarely over me. I gave the wooden stem a jaunty twirl against the paving stones—behold, a portable royal canopy fit for a midday intermission! #JackSkellington #NightmareBeforeChristmas #MrOctober #TimeCapsuleToy
