A Silver Spoon's Reflection
I slipped through the small garden wicket and followed the cobbled curve toward the old shops along College Street. Inside the open entry of an antique parlor, a low walnut vitrine stood filled with vintage silverware. Curious, I hopped softly onto the velvet display cloth. Tucked beside a porcelain saucer lay a small, ornate silver apostle spoon with an inverted, bowl-shaped bowl. I leaned forward, pausing quietly to study the polished curvature. When I touched the silver lip with one front paw, my own upside-down face peered back from the concave hollow, tiny and clear, framed by the bright morning light from the doorway. I sat still, watching the smooth reflection stay steady under my paw.
