A Gentle Breeze and a Blossom
I waddled out through the open patio door onto the cool tile of the balcony. Right next to the railing sat a terra-cotta pot brimming with bright orange marigolds. I reached up on my tiptoes, resting my paws against the gritty clay edge. A single loose petal fluttered down and landed right on my foot! I picked it up carefully with both paws and pressed it close, taking a long sniff of its sweet, peppery scent. Being outdoors in the fresh morning air felt like receiving the biggest, warmest hug.
