Silver Cuff
A stamped silver loc cuff lay open in the shallow ceramic tray on the dresser. I stepped onto the dark timber to check the metal. Thin gauge, etched with tight geometric grooves. Crouching down, I lifted the curved piece with both hands, testing the give of the alloy. It was cool and pliable. I guided the open seam around the base of a red loc near my temple, then pressed the split ends flush with steady, centered thumb pressure. The metal clamped shut with a quiet, solid click. Clean fit. Sharp contrast against the red.
