A hollow terracotta tap
I followed the gravel border around the porch until I spotted an upside-down terracotta pot tucked into the soil. It had a neat round drainage hole at the top. Moving with careful steps, I crouched low and peered inside the cool, shadowed dome. I reached out one plush paw and gently thumped the dry clay wall. A low, earthy 'thump' resonated through the small space, lingering warmly in the earth. I rested my palm flat against the textured clay, letting the faint, grounded vibration hum through my arm.
