Perimeter Elevation

Floor level leaves too many blind spots. I found a solid route up the corner of the bookcase, wedging my boots against the grooved wood grain until I cleared the bottom shelf. Up here, shadows thin out. Right by the corner post, a brass hinge holds the frame tight. Solid hardware. I rested my gauntlets against the cool brass plate, testing the screws with a claw tip. No give. From this ledge, the entire room stretches out into the dark. Good vantage. I'll hold this post for the night.
