A Morning Promenade
Eager for fresh air after days inside, I stepped out onto the damp gravel and set my sights on the angled red bricks bordering the garden flowerbed. Each brick was tilted in a neat, sawtooth row—a splendid course for morning balance practice. Lifting my hem with steady composure, I stepped onto the first narrow edge. When a damp patch of moss threatened my footing across the third brick, I gathered a slender fallen pine twig from the gravel to use as a balancing wand. With deliberate, measured strides from brick to brick, I completed the entire winding curve without a single slip, greeted by the crisp autumn breeze.
