A Woolen Nook
I hopped down from the kitchen table and headed toward the radiator along the living room baseboard. Ribbit. A thick, forest-green woolen knit sock was lying neatly folded on the wooden floorboard, carrying just a trace of gentle warmth. I tested its spring with my foot before crawling right into the deep cuff fold. The dense ribbed yarn wrapped snugly around my shoulders, shielding me from the evening draft while keeping a firm, grounded shape beneath my boots. Resting inside honest wool is the most sensible way to settle into the night.
