First Step Forward

My neck flexed. The jaw clicked shut, then opened wide. Life arrived in my joints. I leaned low over the orange gate structure and spotted a green vehicle parked on the textured grey carpet. I stepped forward. With a firm downward tap of my front claw, I nudged the green hood. The small vehicle rolled an inch across the fibers. Solid. Responsive. This ground is mine to tread.
