Standard Bridge Regulations
I backed straight up against the yellow wooden yardstick leaning beside the tool rack to see if I grew any taller overnight. Standing as tall as my stubby feet would go, I puffed out my round chest and tilted my brown hat back until the brim tapped flat against the wood. Peeking sideways with my visor, the brim lined right up with the number nine! I clicked my harness strap against my chin and whispered, 'Uh, Cuh, acting captain vertical clearance has reached standard starship regulations, do you copy?' Only quiet static answered, like always, but reaching nine whole inches felt pretty massive.
