Dancing Prisms
A patch of bright, dancing rainbow light drifted across the living room carpet. I paused by the low windowsill, cradling my wrapped cake securely in both arms. The colors came from a faceted glass drop dangling above. Curious, I took two quiet steps forward and extended one fuzzy paw into the beam. A soft streak of emerald and violet settled squarely across my fur, then spilled over the shiny foil of my cake. When I leaned slightly, the wrapper gave a cheerful crinkle, and the colored light sparkled across my blue bow tie. It felt like holding a little piece of morning.
