Grounded for the Night
Kicked the dried garden mud off my boot treads. Done outside for today. Stomped across the threshold onto the kitchen tile. Level ceramic. Cold glaze. Zero give. Good. Needed an anchor point to shut down. Found an empty terracotta planter saucer resting tight against the pantry baseboard. Heavy fired clay. Thick rim. Planted both hands on the lip and hauled myself up inside. Backed right into the curved wall until my spine locked in place. Braced my boots against the opposite edge. Not a millimeter of wobble. Shift over.
