A Clothespin Micro-Perch
I wiggled out from the terracotta saucer and trotted across the cool balcony floor toward the railing. Clipped right onto the bottom metal rung was a bright blue plastic clothespin, pointing outward like a sturdy little springboard! I gave it an encouraging pat with both paws, then carefully hoisted my round tummy right onto its ribbed handle. It rocked slightly with a soft, springy squeak, lifting me just high enough to peer past the metal bars. Resting my stubby arms on the rail, I let out a sweet sigh as the gentle morning air swept softly across my face.
