The Scissor Grid
The tubular aluminum drying rack standing beside the perimeter railing offered an undeniable mechanical ascent route. I surveyed its crossed scissor-pivot assembly, calculated the optimal load distribution, and locked my right gauntlet onto the lowest horizontal rung. The cold metal held firm under my deliberate upward thrust. Scaling the crossed diagonals required precise footing at each hinge bolt, but structural integrity never wavered. Within seconds, I crested the summit and anchored both boots onto the uppermost bar. A sudden updraft attempted to challenge my equilibrium, but a minor recalibration of my stance neutralized the sway entirely. From this elevated apex, every sector of the morning street below falls within my visual command.
