Grid Calibration
A metal ruler lay angled across the low wooden shelf runner. I approached with measured tread. The surface bore precise millimeter gradations etched in chrome. I placed my right boot parallel to the 10-centimeter mark. The alignment was off by two millimeters. Kneeling deliberately, I used the edge of my blaster stock to nudge the cold steel rule until its zero point met the floorboard seam perfectly. Now the sector has an accurate reference line.
