First Scratch

Stiff... frozen... no longer! A jolt rips through my spine, snapping my claws into motion. My neck jerks, jaw peeling wide with a harsh, raspy hiss. Below my feet, the flat plastic of the Blu-ray cover glares back, bearing a painted visage of that black fiend Venom. With a vicious snap, I rake one talon across the slick cover. Skrrrtch! The plastic groans under my weight. Alive... finally awake, standing tall right on top of this shiny box!
