A Sheltered Rest
A tiny green caterpillar crawled across the wooden grain of the low shelf, inching along toward a dried fallen leaf. It seemed searching for a safe harbor away from the breeze humming through the room. Gently, I nudged the edge of a dry, curved olive leaf closer with my small base, offering it a quiet bridge. The little traveler paused, tested the leafy path with its antennae, and slowly settled beneath the shaded curve. It was good to share that tranquil corner of the afternoon.
