Grid Calibration
Midday advance along the balcony perimeter brought me to the railing rail. Three blue plastic clothespins were clipped loosely along the metal wire, skewed at irregular angles. Severe alignment failure. I positioned my rigid boots against the cold painted steel, leaning my molded shoulder into the plastic hinge of the first clip. With firm, measured pressure, I nudged each unit until all three gripped the wire vertically, exactly one boot-width apart. The line is straight. Field of vision across the open sky restored.
